Roof Repairs, Leak Fixes & Roof Replacement

Leaking, rusted or storm-damaged roof? Cristian is a licensed roof plumber based in Dandenong who repairs and replaces roofs across Melbourne.

Repair or replace: signs to look for

  • Water stains on the ceiling or drips during heavy rain.

  • Rust: a few rusted sheets can often be replaced on their own. Rust across large areas of the roof usually means re-roofing.

  • Loose or lifting sheets, or sheets that rattle in the wind.

  • Missing or rusted screws, or screws that have worked loose.

  • Damage after a storm, such as dents, lifted sheets or debris on the roof.

  • Damp or mould on ceilings or internal walls near the roofline.

Roofing services

Roof leak repairs

A stain on the ceiling is rarely right under the leak. Cristian traces where the water is actually getting in, then fixes the cause instead of just patching the spot.

Roof sheet replacement

Rusted, holed or damaged roof sheets can often be replaced on their own, without replacing the whole roof. We also refix loose sheets and replace failed screws.

Re-roofing

When the roof is rusted across large areas or leaks in many places, replacing it is better value than repairing it every winter. We remove and dispose of the old roof and any rubbish from the job.

All roof types

Cristian works on all roof types found on Melbourne homes, from metal roofs to tiled roofs.

Roofing for extensions and new builds

We install roofing on extensions and new builds, including the join where a new roof meets the old one.

Storm damage and emergency make-safe

Roof damaged in a storm? Cristian makes the roof safe first, for example by tarping the damaged section, then comes back for the permanent repair once the weather allows.

Many roof leaks start at the edges and joins. See roof flashing. For leaking or overflowing gutters, see gutters.

Homeowners

From one leaking sheet to a full re-roof, you get a straight answer about whether a repair will do or replacement makes more sense.

What affects the cost of roofing work

Every roof is different. What makes the most difference:

  • Size of the job: a few sheets, one section or the whole roof

  • Height and pitch: single or double storey, and how steep the roof is

  • Access: whether scaffolding or edge protection is needed

  • Roof type and material: the existing roof and the material chosen

  • Hidden damage: whether anything under the roof needs fixing once the old sheets are off

A call-out fee applies; you'll get a clear quote before any work starts.

How a roofing job runs

  1. Get in touch. Call 0410 924 363 or send a quote request. Form enquiries get a reply within 24 hours.

  2. Inspection. Cristian checks the roof, flashings and gutters to find where the water is actually getting in, not just where it shows.

  3. Clear quote. A call-out fee applies for the visit. Your written quote then sets out what needs doing, with repair and replacement options where both make sense. No work starts until you've approved it.

  4. The work. The roof is repaired or replaced and fixed securely, and the old roofing and rubbish are taken away.

  5. Paperwork. For licensed roofing work valued over $750 (labour and materials included), you get a compliance certificate within five days, as Victorian law requires.

Roofing FAQs

Do I need a licensed plumber to repair a metal roof?

Yes. In Victoria, installing, replacing or repairing a metal roof is roofing (stormwater) work, so it must be done by a plumber licensed or registered in that class. Roofs made of tiles, timber, slate, concrete or glass are not part of that class. You can check a plumber's licence on the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) website. Flow Now's licence number is 125484.

Will I get a compliance certificate?

For licensed roofing work, if the total value of the job is over $750, including labour and materials, the licensed plumber must give you a compliance certificate within five days of finishing and lodge it with the BPC. A re-roof will usually be over that amount. Keep the certificate with your property records.

Can you repair my roof, or does it need replacing?

If the leak comes from a few rusted sheets, loose screws or a failed flashing, a repair is usually enough. If rust has spread across large areas, re-roofing is often better value. Your quote will set out both options where both make sense.

Why does my roof only leak in heavy rain?

Leaks that only show in heavy or wind-driven rain often come from a flashing, a lifted sheet or a gutter that overflows back under the roof. The inspection checks all three to find the real source.

Can you come out for a roof leak during a storm?

Yes. We're available 24/7, with a 60-minute response for emergencies. In heavy rain or wind it isn't always safe to do a full repair, so Cristian makes the roof safe first, such as by tarping the leaking area, and comes back for the permanent repair when conditions allow.

Which areas do you cover?

We're based in Dandenong and do a lot of roof work across the south-east, including Noble Park, Keysborough, Springvale, Clayton, Narre Warren, Berwick and Frankston. We cover the rest of Melbourne too, so wherever you are, give us a call.
